Heatless Curling Tools to Save Your Hair and Your Time
If you’re a busy bee, there’s not always time to style your hair. We tried some heatless curlers that all worked wonders; it depends on your curl preference and whether you’re after something travel-friendly. To get the best results, dampen hair with a light water mist before trying any of them.
Curlformers Hair Curlers: AED 142
Curlformers come in various sizes and are suitable for all hair types and lengths. You twist sections of your hair into them and let them work their magic overnight. They give a kind of rag doll curl that needs to be brushed out, but as the curls start so tight, they last longer as they slowly drop.
Hair Curling Ribbon: AED 77
Relatively new to the market, the hair curling ribbon creates heatless curls and waves. This ribbon-like tool lets you customize your curls according to your taste, as you can twist large or small sections around the tool. Small and lightweight, this one is great for travelling or taking to a friend’s house for pre-partying while getting ready. Some pop it in their handbag, use it on the plane, and take it out on landing if on a tight schedule.
Soft Foam Hair Rollers: AED 54
Soft foam hair rollers are old-school but still a good option. They come in various sizes, so you can create smaller waves at the front and bouncy curls at the back. You just roll sections of damp hair onto the foam rollers, secure them in place and let them air dry or sleep in them overnight.
All of these worked well for us, but the hair curling ribbon was our favourite. We slept best in it, and because it’s really light, it’s great for travelling.
